New Dean of the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (SCIT)

Dr. Gilbert Maiga is the new Dean for the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (SCIT). The outgoing Dean for SCIT Dr. Josephine Nabukenya handed over the office on Tuesday 17th Feb 2015 at the College of Computing and IS conference room. The handover function was presided over by the Principal, Assoc. Prof. Constant Okello-Obura and witnessed by George Turyamureba, an official from the University's Internal Audit and witnessed by members of the College management team.

Assoc. Prof. Obura thanked the College staff for entrusting them with the leadership of the College and pledged to ensure teamwork, create harmony and implement a consultative decision making process.

Dr. Nabukenya thanked the University management for entrusting her with the opportunity to serve as Dean from February 2011 to February 2015. She also acknowledged and appreciated the support of the School staff who have worked with her. “I would like to thank all the people I have worked with on this noble task. I am proud of their contributions and I am happy about what we have achieved”, she said.

Dr. Nabukenya will now concentrate on teaching and research in the Information Systems department within the School of Computing and Informatics Technology.
