Dr. Kaddu Sarah Birungi is a Senior Lecturer Department of Library and Information Science the East African School of Library and Information Sciences. She was confirmed into university in March 2013. She holds PhD in Philosophy of Makerere University (2012) an MA in Information Studies from the University of Dar es salaam (2000-2002) and Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences of Makerere university (1995-1998). She was appointed Head Department of Library and Information Sciences effective February 2022- 2026. Prior, she was promoted to the post of Senior Lecturer in November 2021 following the appointment as Lecturer in August 2012

Dr. Kaddu, is a Research and Graduate Coordinator, EALIS, Makerere University. She is a Governing Council Member to AfLIA and the President, Uganda Library and Information Association. She is a Member of the African Network of Information Ethics; and the Internet Governance Forum.
